Fishman Lord

Description

Dropped by the Fishman Lord in the Underwater City, the Trident is one of the more atmospheric rare swords in Blox Fruits — a three-pronged weapon that fits the deep-sea setting it comes from. Getting it means hunting a tough boss in a zone that already punishes players who are not prepared, so expect to farm before it shows up in your inventory. As a sword, the Trident scales with your Sword stat, meaning every point you invest there pays off directly in damage. Mastery climbs through consistent hits, so equipping it and grinding enemies is the fastest path to unlocking both moves: Trident Throw, a ranged projectile attack, and Water Pulse, which gives the weapon some area coverage in fights. For players working through the sea content around Underwater City, the Trident can hold its own and the dual-range kit makes it more versatile than many swords at the same tier.

Moves & Abilities

3 moves
M1
Normal Attack

The player does 2 swipes, a stab, then performs a lunge on the fourth.

Z
Trident Throw
Mastery 50

The user throws the trident in the direction of their cursor, which is connected to the user's right hand via a black rope. Upon hitting an enemy, the target is damaged and pulled towards the user. Upon hitting terrain, the user is pulled towards the trident. This move can be very deadly if used correctly. It acts similar to Spikey Trident's [X] Flying Trident Pull move but slower.

X
Water Pulse
Mastery 125

The user spins the trident, creating a suction force that pulls nearby enemies towards them. Simultaneously, a blue circle appears in an area around the player and explodes in a burst of bubble shortly after, knocking enemies back.

Trident — In-Depth Analysis

What Is the Trident?

The Trident is a rare sword obtainable in the First Sea by defeating the Fishman Lord boss in the Underwater City. As a rare-tier drop, it sits well above starter swords and offers early-game sword mains a meaningful step up before they can access higher-tier options.

Role and Performance

The Trident's standout trait is its ability to pull targets toward the user — a mechanic that sets it apart from most First Sea swords and gives it genuine combo utility. Its AoE coverage and Instinct-breaking on certain hits make it a surprisingly capable PvP weapon at the level range where it's obtained. The lower cooldown compared to the Spikey Trident means you can pressure opponents more consistently.

That said, it has real weaknesses: Blade users are completely immune to its damage, one of its moves locks you in place (risky if misread), and its range on single-target skills is short enough that a mobile opponent can simply back away.

- Best used as a combo opener — pull the target in, then chain a fighting style follow-up. - Pair with a close-range fighting style like Death Step to cover the range gap. - Once you're progressing into the Second Sea, it will be outclassed; treat it as a strong transitional weapon.

Tip: Its pull mechanic is particularly effective against stationary grind mobs in the Underwater City area — clear the very zone where it drops.
