Flashlight guide
Flashlight only exists during a "Blackout" Admin Event, and it is tagged Special rather than given a normal rarity tier. When the event is running, you fish it up with Magnet as bait, which makes it unlike the typical fish you hook with a worm or bait crate.
Its weight is tiny, 1 kg on average (0.5 kg to 3.2 kg), but the price per kg is huge: C$6,666.667, giving an average of about C$6,666.7 per catch. That ranks 148 of the 742 documented fish for value, while the maximum weight ranks 571 of 663, among the lightest. In other words, you are paid for the item, not for the kilograms. Each catch also grants 5,000 base XP.
Because it depends on an Admin Event, you cannot plan for it the way you plan around a season or a time of day. If an event is live and you own Magnet, it is probably worth a few casts: the payout sits in the top 148 of the documented fish. When no event is running, skip it. The in-game line says it does not seem to turn off, which suits the blackout theme.
