Lava Clam guide

Lava Clam is a modest Rare fish with one clear place to be found: Scoria Reach, with Coal as bait, during Spring. A bivalve with a heat-resistant shell, it is described as prized for the pearls it occasionally produces.

Do not expect big payouts. It weighs about 9.25 kg on average (9 to 20 kg) and sells at C$68.4 per kg, for an average of C$623.9. That is rank 375 of the 742 documented fish by value, right in the middle, and its maximum weight sits at 404 of 663. It pays 310 base XP, which is decent for something this small.

The useful angle is access. Scoria Reach sells two rods, the Daybreaker Rod and the Igneous Rupturer, so you can pick up a tool in the zone itself instead of arriving underequipped. Bring Coal, wait for Spring, and treat Lava Clam as a steady filler catch while you chase better fish in the same waters.

Sell it without guilt; there is no stat here that argues for keeping it.
