Nectarshade — In-Depth Analysis
The Nectarshade sits in an awkward but useful niche: it is a single-harvest, Rare crop earned through the Bizzy Bee Event. Single-harvest is the defining economic fact here — each plant gives you exactly one payout, then it is gone and the plot is free again. Unlike a multi-harvest event crop, there is no regrow income, so its value comes from how much you can inflate that one sale rather than from passive accumulation.
Because the base rarity is only Rare, its raw sell value is modest compared to Legendary or Mythical event drops. That means the plain produce is fine to sell quickly for early or mid-game Sheckles, and you should not feel bad about cashing it out. The real upside appears only when a strong mutation rolls.
Since you get a single shot per plant, mutations matter even more than usual: a Gold or Rainbow Nectarshade, or a stacked weather mutation, can lift an otherwise ordinary Rare into a worthwhile sale. Plant several at once so the law of averages gives you at least one good mutation roll, sell the unmutated ones immediately, and keep only the standouts for a higher payout.
