MM2 Halloween Event: Battle Pass, Box Odds, Cauldron and Every Past Event

Guide

Quick Summary

Dates, Candies, the Battle Pass cost the wiki disagrees on, Halloween Box odds, Emberscythe crafting, maps, and what every past MM2 Halloween event added.

MM2 Halloween Event 2026: what it is and how long it runs

The MM2 Halloween Event 2026 started on October 18, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT and ends on November 16, 2026. You collect Candies during rounds, spend them on a 30-tier Battle Pass and the 2026 Halloween Box, and can craft the ancient knife Emberscythe at a Cauldron in the lobby. One new map, Haunted House 2, arrives with every earlier Halloween map.

That is the short version. The long version has a few loose ends, because the wiki's own event page disagrees with itself about what a Battle Pass tier costs. This guide lays out what the wiki says, flags the contradictions instead of picking a side, and then walks back through every earlier Halloween event so you can see where Ember items sit in the line.

Everything below comes from the Murder Mystery 2 Fandom wiki. This guide is written from the wiki's documentation and makes no claim of in-game testing, so treat prices and odds as what the wiki lists on the date of writing. For the full event record, see our Halloween Event 2026 page and the MM2 events hub.

What the event adds

According to the event page's intro, this year's update brings:

  • 1 new map, plus the return of every earlier Halloween map
  • 1 new weapon box (the 2026 Halloween Box)
  • A new 30-tier Battle Pass
  • The return of Candies as the event currency
  • 2 new ancients (Emberbow and Emberscythe)
  • 3 new godlies (Embersickle, Mortal and Immortal)
  • 3 new chroma godlies and 2 chroma ancients

The theme is retro. The lobby is much smaller than a normal Halloween lobby, styled after MM2's old lobby from roughly 2014 to 2018 and after the classic haunted house map Shedletsky built in 2006. No coins drop during the event, and the wiki says they come back once it is over.

How Candies work in 2026

Candies replace coins on the map. You pick them up during rounds, or you can buy them with Robux. They pay for Battle Pass tiers and for the box.

One detail changes how you plan: the wiki's Candies page says this event does not let you convert Candies into coins. Some earlier years did (the 2022, 2024 and 2025 pages list a 1:1 exchange). If you were saving a stash to cash out into coins, this is not that kind of event.

Daily quests and event quests

The wiki describes two quest categories. Daily Quests reward extra Candies for collecting Candies, and three are available each day, refreshing at 8:00 AM UTC (3:00 AM EST). Event Quests give exclusive items for finishing Daily Quests.

The quests section has a copy-paste slip: it calls the dailies a complement to "Snow Tokens," which is Christmas wording. Candies are the currency here, so read it as a leftover from another event page.

The Bingo challenge

The event also has a Bingo board, a 3x3 grid of challenges that pay out effects and toys. The wiki says it is the first Bingo reward system since the Easter Event 2023, and that the challenge names match the ones from the Halloween Event 2015, which was the first MM2 event ever and used role-based tasks. Finishing every Bingo task is also how the wiki says you get the Cauldron emote.

The 30-tier Battle Pass and the cost contradiction

The Battle Pass has 30 tiers. Tier 1 is free, the last tier is the ancient gun Emberbow, and there is a very rare chance of getting the Chroma Emberbow instead of the plain one.

Here is where the wiki splits into two stories.

Where on the wikiWhat it says
Event overviewEach tier costs 800 Candies except the free first tier; the ancient costs 100,000; total 117,400
Battle Pass sectionEach tier costs 600 Candies; the first is free; the ancient costs 100,000
Battle Pass table header"Tiers 2 - 29 cost 600 Candies"

The numbers don't line up in either direction. 29 paid tiers (2 to 30) at 600 Candies plus 100,000 is exactly 117,400, so the stated total matches the 600 figure and not the 800 one. At 800 per tier the same sum would be 123,200. But the table header says only tiers 2 to 29 cost 600, which is 28 tiers and 16,800 Candies, giving 116,800 with the 100,000 final tier.

So you get two plausible readings: about 117,400 Candies if tiers 2 to 30 (29 tiers) are all 600 and the ancient is bought afterwards, as the Battle Pass section describes, or about 116,800 if the table header is right. The Emberbow page adds a third wording: it says the ancient is the 30th tier itself, bought for 100,000 Candies. For reference, 800 per tier is what the 2024 and 2025 events charged. Until the wiki cleans this up, check the price in the game's own Battle Pass screen before you plan around a number.

What you get at each tier

The reward row of the wiki table reads like this:

TierReward
1Zombie Plush
2Scarytree
4Wolf
6Skull
8Candy Corn
10Bramble
12Zombie (effect)
14Haunted House
16Drool (gun)
18Skelly (knife)
20Catseye (gun)
22Cauldron
24Broom
26Serpent
28Darkwave
29Emberknife
30Emberbow (ancient gun), with a chance of Chroma Emberbow

Every odd tier from 3 to 27 gives a Halloween Key. That is 13 keys, and each one opens the 2026 Halloween Box once. The key is untradable per its wiki page, and it is the seventh Halloween key in MM2 history after the Alien, Vampire, Traveler, Pumpkin, Skeleton and Reaver keys.

One more wrinkle: tier 22 lists "Cauldron," while the Cauldron item page calls it a common emote earned by finishing all Bingo tasks. The wiki doesn't reconcile the two. The Cauldron you craft at in the lobby is a separate thing from the emote.

Emberbow itself is a crossbow-shaped ancient gun in royal purple and gold with a pumpkin head, and it has its own custom shooting sound. The wiki calls it the first ancient to have a chroma variant. You can read the details on our Emberbow page and the Chroma Emberbow page.

The 2026 Halloween Box and its odds

The 2026 Halloween Box is the only crate in the event. It costs 600 Candies or 1 Halloween Key, it is ember-themed, and it holds 12 weapons. Our 2026 Halloween Box page has the full table. Here is what the wiki lists:

WeaponType (as listed)RarityChance
CandyCornGunCommon70%
SkullsKnifeCommon70%
BombsGunCommon70%
BulletsKnifeCommon70%
GlowKnifeUncommon18%
BrewKnifeUncommon18%
DroolKnifeUncommon18%
CatseyeKnifeRare8%
RavenKnifeRare8%
EmbergunKnifeLegendary4%
EmbersickleKnifeGodly0.2%
Chroma EmbersickleKnifeGodly0.004%

Two reading notes. First, the chances add up to far more than 100%, so these are not shares of a single pool. The wiki doesn't say how the rolls combine, so use them to compare rarity between items and not to calculate odds per opening. Second, Embergun is listed with type "Knife" on the wiki even though the name sounds like a gun; we repeat the wiki's label as written.

The chase items are Embersickle at 0.2% and Chroma Embersickle at 0.004%, which makes the chroma 50 times rarer than the normal godly. The wiki's Embersickle page describes a classic sickle with a purple and gold handle and a pumpkin head, and notes it is the first sickle-shaped weapon in the game. See Embersickle and Chroma Embersickle.

Cauldron crafting: how Emberscythe is made

This year's twist is crafting. The Cauldron sits behind the event NPC in front of the buildings on the lobby's left side. To use it you need both the box godly Embersickle and the Battle Pass final reward Emberbow. Put them in, and you receive the ancient knife Emberscythe.

Three things worth knowing from the wiki:

  • There is a low chance the craft gives Chroma Emberscythe instead, one of the first two chroma ancients (the other is Chroma Emberbow).
  • You can craft as many times as you want, as long as you have the required materials.
  • The wiki says this is the first event since Season 1 where players could craft an ancient weapon.

That last point shapes the cost. Emberbow is the Battle Pass finish line and Embersickle is a box godly with a 0.2% listed chance, so crafting from event rewards means finishing the pass and unboxing the godly. The wiki gives no total cost for a full craft.

Mortal Bundle: the Robux side

The Mortal Bundle is the limited Robux offer that returns every Halloween. It costs 3,399 Robux and contains the godly knife Mortal, the godly gun Immortal and the Smolder effect. You can also buy the knife and the gun separately for 1,699 Robux each. Chroma versions of both exist under the names Chroma Mortal and Chroma Immortal.

The price matches the 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 bundles, which were also 3,399 Robux each.

Maps: Haunted House 2 and the returning Halloween maps

The event page lists one new map and six returning ones, seven maps in all.

  • Haunted House 2: a revamp of the original Haunted House from Murder Mystery 1, the first time this version appears. The wiki has no dedicated page for it yet, so release details, layout and hiding spots are not documented.
  • Manor: an all-indoors haunted mansion with a basement, vents and many hiding spots, added in the 2021 event.
  • Farmhouse: a derelict mansion, a huge barn and a pumpkin field joined by an underground tunnel, also from 2021.
  • Mineshaft: a bigger, brighter remake of the old Mineshaft from 2022. The wiki says it returned in 2025 with its Halloween decorations removed.
  • Barn (Infection): picking it starts the Infection mode, and you cannot earn XP on it.
  • Vampire's Castle: a tight castle with secret passages, from 2024.
  • Spaceship: the 2025 alien-themed map, which includes vent-style hiding spots.

The original Haunted House is the interesting one. The wiki says it was one of the first four maps in MM1 and the only map with thunder and lightning. Players who were Murderer complained that it was huge and hard to win on, and it was removed in the v0.4.7b update when the Hotel map arrived. You could climb onto the roof, which made life hard for the Murderer. Whether Haunted House 2 keeps any of that is unknown from the wiki alone.

The wiki also contradicts itself on map history. The Halloween 2022 event page says no new maps were added and four old ones returned, while the Timeline page says that event included two new maps, Mineshaft and Barn (Infection). Likewise, the 2025 event page's Maps section says the update returns Vampire's Castle, while its trivia and the Vampire's Castle page say it was missing at the start and added four days later.

The lobby and its secret room

The lobby is smaller than usual and built from the old haunted house, with season decor around the voting pads. Above the voting pads is a balcony with a hidden room. The wiki says you open it by clicking the skulls around the lobby in rainbow order and then typing "candle" on a pumpkin drawing on the balcony. A ghost appears and you drop into the old Murder Mystery lobby. Inside the wall, visible only with shiftlock, is an image of an inventory showing an orange weapon called "Mortal Blade," which the wiki links to an old prank and guesses might have inspired Mortal.

Trophies and leaderboard rewards

Like other seasonal events, the event has podium rewards for the top collectors, plus blue versions for the top 100. For 2026 those are reskinned Emberbows: Blue, Bronze, Silver and Gold Emberbow. The trophy section says they come from collecting on the map; the wiki does not spell out how that differs from collecting Candies.

Every past MM2 Halloween event and what it added

If you want to know where Emberbow and Emberscythe fall in the line of Halloween ancients, here is the compact record, built from each event's wiki page. "Ancient" and "godly" use the wiki's rarity labels.

2026Oct 18 to Nov 16Emberbow, Emberscythe, both with chromaEmbersickle and chroma (box), Mortal, Immortal

A few patterns stand out when you read them in a row.

Early events were small. 2015 was a Bingo grid with no crates, packs, tier systems or leaderboards. The 2016 box held a godly knife as its secret chase item, and in 2018 a 100-tier reward track appeared for the first time.

The knife ancient became the Battle Pass ending in 2019 with the 40-tier Elderwood Scythe at 80,000 Candies, which the wiki says drew backlash for how hard it was to earn. Hallowscythe followed in 2020, and Harvester, a gun, in 2021. The wiki calls 2021 the first event with two ancients. 2022 skipped the ancient entirely and split players into Survivors and Zombies, each with their own track and a 50,000 Candy final reward (Makeshift or Bat).

2023 was the first year Candies spawned beside coins, which the wiki says drew backlash and was never repeated. It was also the first year every map was decorated for Halloween. 2024 ran from October 16 to December 9, the second-longest Halloween event, and added the Vampire Hunt gamemode. 2025 was the alien year with a live countdown cutscene and a peak of 603,346 players on October 18, according to the wiki's trivia.

Then there is 2026, the first event with chroma ancients and the first craftable ancient since Season 1.

Spots where the history pages disagree

Since you may compare these pages yourself, here are the mismatches the event pages carry:

  • 2019: the text says all event items needed 124,000 Candies, but the table header implies 123,000. Elderwood Revolver is listed at under 1% on the event page and 1% on the box page.
  • 2023: Chroma Traveler's Gun shows 0.2% on the event page and under 0.2% on the box page.
  • 2024: the box page swaps the knife and gun type for Kraken, Ritual and Cursed Gun (2024) compared with the event page.

If you chase older items, remember what the wiki says about rarity: origin, how obtainable an item still is, and the year it came out shape how rare a weapon is. Trading values live on community value lists and move constantly, so we publish none here. Browse the ancient weapons and godly weapons lists to see which of these are still obtainable.

Frequently asked questions

When does the MM2 Halloween event end?

The wiki gives November 16, 2026 as the end date. It launched on October 18, 2026 at 3:00 PM EDT. Coins return to the map once the event is over.

How many Candies does the Halloween Battle Pass cost?

The wiki gives two answers. The overview says 800 per tier, the Battle Pass section says 600 per tier with a free first tier, and both say the ancient final reward costs 100,000. Only the 600 figure matches the stated total of 117,400, but the table header differs again, so check the in-game price.

How do I get Emberscythe?

You craft it at the Cauldron in the event lobby by combining Embersickle (from the 2026 Halloween Box) with Emberbow (the final Battle Pass tier). There is a low chance the craft gives Chroma Emberscythe instead.

What is in the 2026 Halloween Box?

It holds 12 weapons: four commons (CandyCorn, Skulls, Bombs, Bullets), three uncommons (Glow, Brew, Drool), two rares (Catseye, Raven), the legendary Embergun, and the godly Embersickle (0.2%) and Chroma Embersickle (0.004%). It costs 600 Candies or one Halloween Key.

What maps are in the MM2 Halloween event?

One new map, Haunted House 2, plus the returning Manor, Farmhouse, Mineshaft, Barn (Infection), Vampire's Castle and Spaceship.

Can I turn Halloween Candies into coins?

Not in 2026. The wiki says this event has no Candy to coin conversion, and no coins drop while it runs.

Key Takeaways

  • Every round hands out one Murderer, one Sheriff and Innocents for everyone else.
  • Rarity runs from Unique and Ancient down through Godly, Legendary and below; Chromas are color versions of some Godlies.
  • Each box lists its chance per item: the Godly is usually a 0.2% drop and its Chroma far rarer.
  • Event weapons become trade-only once the event ends; trade values are set by the community.
