About Jackpot
Jackpot is a lucky number made into a Basic aura. Created by ep1k_solg and present since before the Main Update, it rolls at 1 in 777, a nod to slot machines, and 1 in 194 inside the Sandstorm biome. At 1x luck that is about 777 rolls, or about 194 in Sandstorm, and a tenth of those with 10x luck. The wiki changelog says the Sandstorm chance was added later, in September 2024.
According to the Sol's RNG Wiki, the player gets a big spinning gold coin with a dollar sign above the head, while yellow particles and golden triangles rise from the torso, mimicking the effects of Ruby but recolored in gold.
The practical reason to keep it is the Jackpot Gauntlet, which the wiki lists at 77 Jackpots to craft. With that gauntlet equipped, rolling a Jackpot pays 77 in-game cash, a nerfed amount: it was originally 777 before a change in Era 6. Gilded, from the same Sandstorm family of golden Basics, is its natural companion.
