3How to Obtain
Dropped — Darkbeard
NPC: Darkbeard
📍 Dark Arena
Description
Dropped by Darkbeard in the Dark Arena, the Dark Coat is one of the more demanding accessories to chase in Blox Fruits. Darkbeard is a powerful raid boss with a lengthy respawn timer, so expect multiple clears before the coat finally drops — the mythical rarity is no accident. Many players treat the hunt itself as a rite of passage in the mid-to-late game. Once equipped, the Dark Coat occupies your single accessory slot and provides passive stat benefits that complement builds focused on durability and sustained combat. Because you can only wear one accessory at a time, the question is whether its bonuses suit your current style. For fighters who already farm the Dark Arena regularly, it is a natural reward worth holding onto.

Dark Coat — In-Depth Analysis
The Dark Coat is one of the strongest pure-damage accessories in Blox Fruits, sitting comfortably in the S-tier of the current Mythical accessory meta. The stat line is straightforward but brutal: +15% Blox Fruit damage, +600 Energy, and +600 Health. There is no defense penalty attached, which is what makes it shine — you get a flat fruit damage boost without sacrificing survivability, unlike glass-cannon options. For any fruit-main running PvP or grinding raids, that +15% on top of awakened ult chains translates into one-shot breakpoints you simply cannot hit with weaker chest pieces.
Getting it is the painful part. Dark Coat drops exclusively from Darkbeard in the Dark Arena (Second Sea), not from Cake Prince, and the drop rate is a miserable 2%. To summon Darkbeard you need a Fist of Darkness, which itself has a 5% drop from Sea Beasts or spawns in map chests every 4 hours. Realistically you are looking at 40–60 hours of grinding solo, or 10–20 hours running organized server hops with friends. Use 2x Boss Drop gamepass and you cut that in roughly half.
For builds, Dark Coat pairs best with awakened fruits like Dough, Dragon, Venom, or Leopard on a Ghoul or Cyborg race — the damage stacks multiplicatively with Sharkman Karate combos. Versus Pale Scarf, Scarf wins for hybrid sword-fruit users thanks to the +15% to both plus instinct dodges, while Dark Coat wins flat out for pure fruit mains who do not touch a katana. Worth grinding? If you main a fruit — absolutely, it is BiS until you replace the slot with a future raid drop.
