Blox Fruits Advanced Combat: How to Get It (Update 30)

Guide
By RBLXGUIDESunday, October 11, 20266 min read

Quick Summary

Step-by-step guide to the new Advanced Combat fighting style from Update 30: the Secrets Master, the teleporter order, removing your fruit, the Awakened Boss challenge, moves and tips.

Advanced Combat is the new fighting style from Update 30 ("Sea 1 Rework", September 5, 2026). It is the direct successor to the basic Combat style, and it is found in the First Sea. The wiki calls it one of the most time-consuming fighting styles to get, because it has timed steps and a lot of random spawns. This guide turns the wiki's steps into a checklist a younger player can follow. Everything here comes from the community wiki pages for Advanced Combat, Island Secrets and Awakened Bosses, not from our own in-game testing, and the developers fixed several Advanced Combat bugs in patches on September 22 and October 11, 2026.

Before you start: finish the Island Secrets

The very first condition is to complete all Island Secrets in the First Sea. These are hidden quests on each island (40 in total on the wiki), and each one gives 5 Secret Levels. That is a big task on its own, so see our Island Secrets guide first. The final secret ("The Finale") is part of the same chain, because it is what unlocks the Advanced Combat puzzle.

The steps, in order

  1. 1Talk to the Secrets Master. After completing every Island Secret, talk to the Secrets Master in Middle Town and choose the option "Tell me some stories". He tells you three stories, each describing an island.
  2. 2Use the Middle Town teleporter in that order. Go to the islands in the order of the stories. Afterward the Middle Town fountain water turns off for you, and the Secrets Master option disappears.
  3. 3Run the full island sequence. The wiki lists this order for the teleporter: Pirate Starter or Marine Starter, Jungle, Pirate Village, Desert, Frozen Village, Marine Fortress, Lower Skylands, Prison, Colosseum, Magma Village, Underwater City, Upper Skylands and Fountain City. Then teleport back to your starter island to receive the final secret and unlock the Advanced Combat puzzle.
  4. 4Remove your fruit and your fighting style. Go to the Remove Blox Fruit NPC at the top of Prison. Remove your fruit, then talk to the NPC again and choose the new option "Remove my Fighting Style". That gives you the basic Combat style.
  5. 5Defeat one of each Awakened Boss with Combat only. Each kill restores part of the fountain. When the fountain is back to normal, the Secrets Master can give you Advanced Combat, and he also lets you swap back to Combat whenever you want.

Once you finish, you receive the title Class S (number 167).

The Awakened Boss challenge

This is the hardest part. Awakened Bosses are a First Sea event that happens once at the start of every hour, if at least one player is near the boss. Each boss has its own mini-game that you must finish before you can damage it. The Secrets Master tells you which boss will awaken, but only during the last 30 minutes of the hour.

The wiki lists these awakening methods:

BossHow to awaken it
Gorilla KingShake the tree to drop bananas
ChefPut materials into the cauldron behind him
YetiBreak three green frozen cubes while Aura is on
Vice AdmiralMan the cannons near the port and destroy the tower
WardenPull the lever combination Red, Blue, Green, Blue
Magma GeneralDestroy the pressure points around the volcano
Fishman LordFind a pearl in one of the clams around the island
Sky WarlordDestroy the dark purple clouds above the temple
Lightning GodRing the golden bell using your fighting style, sword and gun as prompted
CyborgFix the glowing cables on the floor

The wiki notes that the quest counts 11 bosses, since the Upper Skylands has two, and a September 22 patch fixed the quest stalling at 10 of 11. It also warns that the same Secrets Master message can appear for different bosses there.

Tips from the wiki

  • Server hopping, or restarting a private server, is recommended for the Awakened Boss step, so you can get a fresh set of bosses.
  • Private servers are not recommended for the timed island secrets, because you cannot choose which island an event spawns on.
  • You can only use Combat for the kill. The wiki says other players can help you, and they do not need to use Combat, but they will not get credit for Advanced Combat.
  • Several tools make the kills easier. The wiki lists Ghost's V ability, because its clones also use Combat as long as you are holding Combat, plus Buddha, Cyborg V3's Energy Core and Draco V3's Flash Step. Be careful not to swap to a sword or gun, because the clones will copy it and the attempt will fail.
  • Awakened Bosses give a free gacha roll to players who deal enough damage, according to the wiki.

The moves

KeyMoveMasteryEnergyCooldown
TAPNormal Attacknonenonenone
ZMeteor Tackle115about 8 s
XGround Breaker10030about 13 s
CCharged Punch20050about 17 s

What they do, per the wiki:

  • Normal Attack: four punches (right hook, left hook, uppercut and a punch), the same as Combat.
  • Meteor Tackle (Z): a short dash forward that tackles enemies. It is like Combat's Z, but you can aim it in any direction. It cannot break Instinct.
  • Ground Breaker (X): a ground slam that makes a crater. If it connects, the opponent is sent flying into rocks and slammed back down. It breaks Instinct on the first hit only. The wiki says this is the highest damage of any single melee move.
  • Charged Punch (C): a punch that makes a shockwave, bigger and longer if you hold the key for 2 seconds. It breaks Instinct only at very close range.

Pros and cons

The wiki lists these good points: most attacks are fine for grinding, no mastery in other styles is needed, Meteor Tackle has a short cooldown and good mobility, and Ground Breaker can stun when teaming. Charged Punch is called a good finisher and reversal.

And these weaknesses: it is hard to obtain for most First Sea players, M1 speed is slow, range is incredibly low, and Ground Breaker is hard to hit, has a small area and very high end-lag if it connects. Charged Punch has a long charge time and cooldown.

A fun trivia note: the wiki says this is the only improved version of a fighting style that does not need mastery from the previous one.

Should you go for it right now?

If you are still in the middle of the Island Secrets, finish them first, because the style depends on them. The wiki also says some secrets may need waiting for timed events and that bugs were still being fixed in October 2026, so be patient and read the latest patch notes. Do not buy anything with real money to rush this, since the steps on the wiki do not include any purchase.
