Role and Who It's For

Both of the Katana's moves carry AoE, which is genuinely useful in the early game when NPCs tend to group together. Decent hit speed and a low price make it a solid entry point for new sword-stat players building their foundation. The quick-start animation means engagements begin without a long wind-up.

The downsides accumulate fast at higher levels: damage is very low, cooldowns are disproportionately long for the power delivered, it does not break Instinct, and range is minimal.
