Tidemourner review
Tidemourner is a hammer you buy at the Ancient Archives for C$1,200,000, and its signature is handling. 0.4 Control ranks 5th of 185 rods, one of the best in the game, and 250 Luck ranks 25th of 184. The trade-off is everywhere else: Lure Speed of 50 ranks 127th, and Resilience of 0 ranks 161st. It has no passive, but it lists Disturbance +2 and a hunt focus on Pliosaur.
That profile describes a rod for precision, not tempo. Bites will take longer than with a fast rod, but once a fish is on, the minigame is among the easiest to control, and the Luck means the fish tend to be worth the wait. The flavor line about a perfect strike echoing like a funeral bell hints at its theme.
On price it is fair but not unbeatable: Cinder Block Rod (300 Luck, C$50,000) and Destiny Rod (250 Luck, C$190,000) offer equal or more Luck for less. Neither is sold in the same place, though; Tidemourner shares the Ancient Archives with Anchor n' Chain, Elder Mossripper, Dead Man's Rod, Cupid's Embrace and Lucid Rod.
Best for players who lose fish in the minigame and want to stop doing so, and for anyone hunting Pliosaur.
