What to know about Chroma Gingerblade
- Chroma counterpart of Gingerblade, from the same 2018 Christmas Box.
- The first Christmas chroma and the second holiday chroma ever released.
- The 2018 Christmas Box was the first Christmas box to hold both knives and guns.
- Throwing it leaves the chroma part in the hand while the plain part flies (an unfixed glitch).
- Not salvageable in the crafting station.
Chroma Gingerblade guide
Two glitches define Chroma Gingerblade more than its looks do. When a player throws it, the Chroma part stays in the hand while the plain part flies, and the wiki says this remains unfixed. Applying the Ghostify effect also leaves the knife surrounded by a white translucent rectangle, which shows the size of its hitbox; the regular Gingerblade has the same problem.
The knife came from the 2018 Christmas Box during the Christmas Event 2018, opened with 1 Snowflake Key. That box was the first Christmas box to hold both knives and guns. Chroma Gingerblade is the first Christmas Chroma and the second holiday Chroma ever, after Chroma Boneblade, and the wiki says the holiday Chromas are the only Chroma weapons that can no longer be unboxed. Today it is trading only.
Design
Gingerbread makes up most of the knife: white icing and small candy bits on the blade, a large peppermint guard with gingerbread pieces and icing, and a handle made only of candy covered in icing. Every candy part alternates in color.
It lost a lot of value after The Duping Glitch (2019) and cannot be salvaged in the crafting station.
