Bring 100 Ectoplasm and a Hellfire Torch to the Ability Teacher NPC
Description
Ghoul is one of the rarer races in Blox Fruits, obtained exclusively through Experimic, an NPC found in the Third Sea. Unlike races you can reroll with Robux, Ghoul requires completing a specific in-game ritual, making it a meaningful milestone for players who reach the late game. Once unlocked, it can be awakened through the Race Awakening questline to reach V2, V3, and eventually V4, each tier adding stronger passive bonuses. As a combat-oriented race, Ghoul suits aggressive playstyles. Its identity leans into dark or predatory themes, rewarding players who stay active in fights rather than playing defensively. Whether you are grinding Sea Beasts, farming bosses, or engaging in PvP, Ghoul's passives grow meaningfully with each awakening tier, making the investment in completing its quests well worth it for dedicated grinders.

- +
Faster health regeneration and fast speed at night, although speed still slower than the Rabbit race.
- +
The player can change their race back to Ghoul whenever they'd like; no need to pay anything.
- +
Very good with Buddha due to the race's life leech. (Sanguine Art is also recommended due to additional life leech.)
- +
It can be considered as a mixture of all Races, having faster health regeneration (Angel) and faster speed (Rabbit) at night, as well as extra defense (Shark/Cyborg), extra damage (Human/Cyborg), and area control/support. (Draco) These benefits help in making it a good choice for people who can't decide on which race they want to use.
- +
Any moves in cooldown below 40% will be renewed when awakening.
- +
Nearly halves cooldowns (-40%), making moves very spammable and allowing for quick comebacks in PvP.

Offers decent mobility, especially when paired with the nighttime speed boost.

Balanced ability, as it buffs damage, speed, and defense.

More tedious to obtain than some other races. (Hellfire Torch is chance-based, and can only be obtained by defeating a raid boss.)

Trivia
10- 1
A Ghoul V3 user having the Dino Hood equipped can outrun a Rabbit V3 user having the Pilot Helmet equipped.
- 2
Ghoul V3 does not allow you to bypass the automatic cooldown placed on (V) moves upon spawning in.
- 3
Ghouls received numerous nerfs and buffs after the v4 race update was released, which went largely unnoticed.
- 4
The only race that allows the user to reset all moves when awakening (similar to the race's skill)
- 5
Generally, Ghoul is the most popular V4 trial for players to take part in, often resulting in trials failing to start.
- 6
When in V4 with the Ghoul race, the user has visible black skulls floating upward when its activated. Possibly because Ghouls are related to spooky themes, like Skeletons.

Ghoul race has been nerfed.

Lifesteal decreased by 7%

Ghoul — In-Depth Analysis
## What Ghoul Is and How to Get It
Ghoul is one of only three quest-unlock bloodlines in Blox Fruits. To obtain it, bring 100 Ectoplasm and a Hellfire Torch to the Ability Teacher NPC. The Hellfire Torch is chance-based and can only drop from raid bosses, which means the grind is RNG-dependent and more tedious than simply completing a fixed quest. The upside: once obtained, you can freely switch back to Ghoul at any time without paying again.
## Role, Strengths, and Weaknesses
Ghoul is a lifesteal and cooldown-reduction race built for sustained, aggressive melee combat. Its night passives grant faster health regeneration and a speed boost, though these are disabled during daytime outside of V4's Domain Expansion. The lifesteal mechanic activates through fighting styles, making it especially potent with Buddha builds or Sanguine Art. The V4 awakening nearly halves cooldowns on abilities below 40%, meaning you can re-enter your full kit incredibly quickly after a burst window.
The weaknesses are significant: lifesteal only applies to fighting-style damage (not fruits or weapons), it heals five times less against NPCs, and the whole race is countered by opponents who keep their distance. Defense is also below average, so you need to stay in the fight to benefit from the sustain.
Tip: Ghoul pairs exceptionally well with Buddha — the transformation locks you in melee range where lifesteal triggers most, turning you into a near-unkillable grind and raid machine.
