Description
Shark V4 is the underwater specialist — its awakening grants amphibious damage and a powerful underwater dash. Niche but devastating in sea-3 PvE and ocean PvP encounters. Like every race in Blox Fruits, Shark progresses through V1 (passive only), V2 (NPC-quest unlocked), V3 (Arctic puzzle unlock), and V4 (post-Update 17 awakening trial). Each step adds either a passive bonus or an active ability slotted into your race wheel. V4 is the version that matters for endgame — the trial is gated behind specific in-game tasks and rewards the awakened ability that sets the tier list ranking. Race-changing in Blox Fruits costs Robux through the in-game Tatakai Master, so you generally only switch when committing to a new build. Shark is worth the swap if your build leans into the playstyle its V4 awakening rewards — otherwise stick with whatever you rolled at character creation and accept the slight tier-list disadvantage. Pair Shark with a fighting style and fruit that reinforces its core strength. Speed races like Mink want long-range fruits to capitalize on positioning; sustain races like Ghoul want close-range fruits with stuns. The race-fruit synergy gap can be the difference between a B-tier and an S-tier loadout.
- +
Water immunity (or damage reduction for V1).
- +
Can give a high damage reduction (especially with Awakened Buddha + Water Body).
- +
Great for PvP beginners.
- +
Good for enduring attacks or combos, virtually rendering a combo useless.
- +
Useful against teamers, spammers or trappers for surviving combos.
- +
Very useful against runners.
- +
Makes enemies easier to aim.
- +
Decreases enemies' defense, making them more vulnerable.
- −
Ice's Frost Walker passive, Awakened Magma's Magmatic Feet passive, Awakened Buddha's [Z] (Shift), Awakened Dough's [F] (Scorching Donut), Kitsune's Transformation, Gas's Transformation and Yeti's Transformation can walk/roll on water, rendering Shark's passive abilities not that useful. However, it still protects from being dragged underwater with these fruits.
- −
Crossing oceans can be faster with air dashing + use of mobility skill than swimming.
- −
Non-Blox Fruit and Leviathan Shield users might not benefit from the water immunity.
- −
No movement buff, which makes the player sluggish.
- −
Considered to be outclassed by several other races in the community. (After being nerfed)
- −
Some longer combos can easily counter.
- −
Can be ignored by Lava but somehow takes around half damage and survives longer without reducing overflow.
- −
Less useful against enemies that are not running or air campers.
Trivia
10- 1
The V1 extra swim speed is faster than the Dinghy, but slower than the Sloop.
- 2
If the player has put 0 stats in defense, the passive of V1 will make it so you take 1 damage, and the player's health will be stuck at 99/100 hp. Note that this will only work with no defense and also no health-buffing accessories
- 3
The V2 swim speed is slightly faster than the Brigade.
- 4
The Leviathan's Armor effect will sometimes surround the user with a blue aura or a blue layer, depending on the avatar the user is using.
- 5
The Leviathan's Armor aura/layer will get brighter when the overflow bar decreases and disappear when it is gone.
- 6
Leviathan's Armor can be considered as the only defense that Gravity's upgraded [V], [C] and Piercing enchantment can't ignore, since it's more of a shield that grants the player extra HP than an actual defense buff measured in units such as percentages.
- 7
The overflow passive, which regenerates from dealing damage to NPC increased significantly (~22% -> ~50%). When the event ended, this change was no longer present.
- 8
Shark was nerfed.
- 9
Reduced speed debuffs and max overflow on awakened passives.
- 10
The overflow passive now only protects against 85% of the damage received, instead of 100%.
