Ancient Fragment guide
The Ancient Fragment is odd, because it is not really a fish at all. It is a Fragment-rarity item, described as a magical stone etched with a mystical sea creature, and it comes up at Ancient Isle. Any bait works.
Look at the weights: it weighs 0.1 kg every time, which ranks 660th of 663 by max weight. That would normally make it worthless, but the price per kilo is C$5,000, so each one sells for about C$500, 390th of 742 by average value. Base XP is 120.
Because it comes in a fixed size, the only variable is whether you find one. The same zone offers Deep Sea Fragment and Earth Fragment, two more Fragment-rarity items, so if you are collecting them, Ancient Isle is where to look. Krampus's Rod, Phoenix Rod and Stone Rod are all sold there.
Verdict: sell it for C$500 if you need money, or hold on to it if you are chasing the Fragment set. It is easy to tell apart from ordinary fish, since the weight never changes.
