Phantom Megalodon
“The Phantom Meg is a spectral version of the ancient Megalodon, haunting the waters with an ethereal glow. Its serrated teeth remain just as fearsome, tearing through anything in its way. Though extinct for millions of years, this ghostly apex predator dominates the Ancient Isle and will challenge any angler brave enough to hook it.”— in-game Bestiary description

Phantom Megalodon guide
Phantom Megalodon haunts the Ancient Isle, and it is both Limited and currently obtainable. It takes Shark Head as bait and only appears during an Eclipse. The game calls it a spectral version of the ancient Megalodon that dominates the island. Tags: Limited, Hunt fish, Sharks.
An average catch is 58,500 kg (50,000 to 140,700 kg). At C$0.597 per kg that is C$34,925 a fish, 48th of 742 documented fish by value, while its max weight is 46th of 663. It gives 18,000 base XP.
Shamrock Megalodon is the other Limited fish documented in the same zone. The rods sold around the Ancient Isle are Krampus's Rod, Phoenix Rod and Stone Rod, which gives you a few options for fighting something this heavy.
Verdict: the Eclipse requirement is what makes it a scheduling problem, not a skill problem. Stock Shark Head ahead of time, since you cannot rely on the weather turning up when you want it, and sell it for the C$34,925. As a Limited fish it is better caught sooner than later.
