Banana guide
Banana is a Secret fish, and yes, it really lives in the water: the in-game note jokes about how it got there. You can find it on the Ancient Isle, only in Summer and only when it is Raining. No bait is listed, so the conditions are the whole challenge.
It is tiny, 0.4 kg to 2.9 kg, averaging 0.7 kg, with the max weight ranked 579th of 663. Yet its price per kg is C$18,500, so the average sale reaches C$13,500, 106th of the 742 documented fish. In addition it gives 6,900 base XP, which is a lot for a one-in-a-while catch.
Ancient Isle sells Krampus's Rod, Phoenix Rod and Stone Rod, and one of them is probably your best bet when you want to be ready for a rainy Summer window. No other fish of the same rarity is listed in that zone, so the Banana is the standout target there.
Verdict: worth waiting for. Mark the Summer rain on your calendar and fish Ancient Isle when it hits. Selling pays well, but the XP alone justifies the trip.
