Boots

Boots is an Exotic catch from the open Ocean, taken with Luminous Larva as bait. A joke item by name, it pays like a real fish: an average sale of C$769.5, which is C$615.385 per kilogram across a weight range of 1.2 to 2.7 kg (average 1.25 kg). It also gives 250 base XP.

To put the price in context, its average value ranks 350th among the 742 documented fish, so it lands almost exactly in the middle of the pack. Its weight is another story: the maximum of 2.7 kg ranks 583rd of 663, meaning it is among the lighter fish. That combination, a middling price from a very small body, is why its per-kilogram figure is high even though the sale is unremarkable.

Is it worth chasing? For a mid-level angler, yes, as a steady Exotic that sells for around C$770 and gives decent XP. The catch is that it needs Luminous Larva, so you have to be carrying that bait, and the Ocean is a wide area. If you are after big payouts, look at fish with averages in the tens of thousands. If you want a reliable mid-tier sale and a light catch to add to your log, Boots does the job.
