Elder Mossjaw

“Older than memory, the Elder Mossjaw is whispered of in fearful stories. It has a moss-draped hide, and its eyes gleam with a cruel, ancient intelligence. To face it is to face the jungle’s oldest terror.”— in-game Bestiary description

Elder Mossjaw guide

Elder Mossjaw is a huge payday: it ranks 10th of the 742 documented fish by value. This Secret-rarity Hunt fish lives in Lost Jungle, bites on Glowworm at Night, and is obtainable right now. Its weight is absurd: 600,000 kg at minimum, 1,000,000 kg on average and up to 2,940,000 kg, which ranks 11th of 663 by maximum weight.

The price per kg is tiny at C$0.229, but the mass makes up for it: an average sale of C$229,000 plus 700,000 base XP. Few catches anywhere match that combination of cash and experience.

Because it is a Hunt fish, expect it to be a deliberate target rather than something you stumble on. Prepare Glowworm, go to Lost Jungle after dark, and do not waste the attempt on a weak setup. Azure Of Lagoon and Tranquility Rod are the rods sold in that zone, so check them against what you already own.

If you are mid-game and short on C$, this is one of the strongest single catches available, and selling it once can fund several upgrades.
