Mained Lionfish guide
Mained Lionfish is the heavy hitter of the Animal Event, a Limited fish with a fiery mane that the listing says rules the coral depths. You fish it with Fish Head, at any hour, in Clear weather during Summer, and it is obtainable right now.
It is a big fish for an event. It averages 300 kg and can reach 945 kg, which is rank 172 of 663 by maximum weight. At C$14.444 per kg, an average fish sells for C$4,333.3, rank 194 of the 742 documented fish, and it pays 5,000 base XP. For an event fish, that is a serious return.
Capybass, Cluckfin, Crocokoi, Duckfin Tuna, Krabbit and Kittyfish share its rarity and zone, so you will need to sort through the pool to reach the Lionfish. That makes patience part of the cost.
My advice: this is the fish to prioritise in the Animal Event. Load Fish Head, wait for a clear summer window and keep casting. Because Limited fish do not stay forever, selling a few for the cash is reasonable, but keep one if you like completing event sets. Of everything this event offers, it is the one worth organising a session around.
