Petrified Ammonite guide

Drylands has an odd catch in the Petrified Ammonite: the heavy, fossilized spiral shell of a prehistoric marine creature swallowed by the desert. It is Common, shows up in Clear weather during Summer, and no particular time of day is needed.

Its numbers are small. An average weight of 2.25 kg (1 to 7.4 kg), C$15.7 per kg and an average sale of C$35.4 leave it 680th of 742 documented fish by value, with max weight 499th of 663. It gives 35 base XP.

The other Common fish documented in Drylands are Calcified Trilobite, Dryskin Minnow and Sandbar Loach, so the zone's cheap tier has four members and the Ammonite sits among the lower-paying ones. A catch like this exists to fill the collection, not the wallet.

Verdict: a throwaway fish if you care about coins. Take it when the line pulls up, sell it for the C$35, and keep your attention on whatever else Drylands can give you in the same summer window. If you track fossils or collect every catch of the zone, add it to the list.
