Abyssal Specter Rod review
The Abyssal Specter Rod is the expensive tank of Atlantis: it costs C$850,000 and is sold in the same zone as Champions Rod, Depthseeker Rod and Tempest Rod. It carries a passive and masteries.
Its profile is lopsided on purpose. Luck is 90, only 115th of 184 obtainable rods, and Lure Speed is 60, 112th. But Control of 0.3 ranks 10th of 185 and Resilience of 70 ranks 11th of 184. This is a rod built to keep control of a fight, not to find rare fish.
That is a problem at this price. Champions Rod gives Luck 130 for C$90,000, Carrot Rod gives Luck 125 for C$75,000, and Challenger's Rod gives Luck 190 for C$750,000. All three beat it on Luck for less money.
So who should buy it? Players who already have a strong Luck setup and lose big fish in the fight, or who want the passive and masteries for their own sake. For everyone else, it is hard to justify C$850,000 when the Atlantis shop next door has stronger Luck for a tenth of the price. Compare Champions Rod first.
