Tempest Rod review
Atlantis sells the Tempest Rod for C$100,000, and its selling point is speed. Lure Speed 90 ranks 43rd of 184 obtainable rods, and the listed Progress Speed of 30 adds to that. The description talks about rapid-fire casting and retrieval, which fits the numbers.
Resilience is the other strong stat at 40, 30th of 184. The 150,000 kg limit is 25th of 117, and Control 0.15 is 54th of 185. Luck of 120 is only 94th of 184, so this is not a rare-fish rod. It also requires a level before you can use it.
The price comparison is not kind. Champions Rod (Luck 130, C$90,000), Carrot Rod (Luck 125, C$75,000) and Cinder Block Rod (Luck 300, C$50,000) all give equal or more Luck for less. Abyssal Specter Rod, Champions Rod and Depthseeker Rod are also sold on Atlantis.
Verdict: pick the Tempest Rod if you value fast casting and durability over catch quality. If you only care about Luck, the Cinder Block Rod looks like the better use of C$100,000, and half its price.
