Masterline Rod review
Lure Speed of 1000 is the number that defines the Masterline Rod: it ranks 1st of the 184 obtainable rods, so nothing else in the game bites faster. The wiki describes it as granted only to dedicated Fischers, and it carries a passive plus mastery tags.
Luck is also high at 350, 4th of 184 obtainable rods, so you are not trading rarity for speed. Resilience of 50 lands at 20/184, which is comfortably above the middle of the pack. The weak spot is Control, only 0.15, which sits at 54/185. That is average at best, so expect to fight the reel bar a little more than the other stats suggest.
In practice this is a rod for people who already know the fish they want and prefer to cycle casts quickly. Fast bites mean more catches per minute, and the Luck score keeps those catches from being junk. The in-game text claims no catch is too strong for it, and the 20th-place Resilience backs that up reasonably well.
The verdict: if you have access to it, there is little reason to switch to a slower rod for general fishing. Pick another rod only when a specific fish needs high Control, since that is where the Masterline Rod gives up ground.
