Spooky Rod

FischFright is the event behind the Spooky Rod, and the in-game text says it is only obtainable during that event. The data currently lists it as obtainable, so check that the event is live. Its source is the Witch's rewards at Fischfright 2025, and it has a passive.

That passive keeps the event's mutations coming all year: the rod is cursed with the constant energy of FischFright, allowing you to catch FischFright mutations outside the event. That is the whole reason to use it.

The stat line is modest. Luck 66 is 144th of 184 obtainable rods, Lure Speed 75 is 87th, Control 0.2 is 29th of 185, and Resilience -10 is 175th of 184. The 150,000 kg limit is a nicer number, 25th of 117, so it does fine with large fish.

Comparing it with a pure Luck build would be unfair: this is a mutation rod, not a rare-fish rod.

Verdict: get it if you collect mutations and can reach the Witch while the event runs. For everyday progression you will want a higher-Luck rod, and the Spooky Rod can serve as a themed side tool.
