Peppermint Rod review

Peppermint Rod is a candy-cane rod from Fischmas 2025, and it is flagged unobtainable now. Its description says it was only available during Fischmas, so this entry is a look at what it was rather than a shopping tip.

The unusual number is Lure Speed: -250, a negative value, which means bites arrive far more slowly than on a normal rod. Everything else is modest. Luck is 65, Control is 0.12, Resilience is 12, and the weight limit is 10,000 kg.

That slow start was paid for by the passive. All fish had a 25% chance to be Peppermint, which makes it a mutation-focused rod rather than a general fishing tool. It made sense only if you were willing to wait for each bite in exchange for that chance on every catch.

In the same zone it appeared alongside Santa's Miracle Rod, a clearly faster option, so the two served different tastes within the event: one for speed and handling, one for committing to a single mutation.

Today, it is a collector item. Nobody can newly get it, and its Lure Speed would make it a poor choice for ordinary fishing even if you could.
