Alien Apple — In-Depth Analysis
The Alien Apple is one of those crops where the real economics live in the mutation layer rather than the base sheet. Its in-game seed cost, sell price and growth time aren't published as fixed shop numbers here, which is itself a signal: this is an event/limited produce rather than a steady Seed Shop staple, so you can't just buy it on demand and farm it like Carrot or Strawberry.
Because the base value is modest by fruit standards, the smart play is treating any Alien Apple you grow as a mutation canvas. Stack environment mutants — Wet, Chilled then Frozen, plus a Shocked or Rainbow proc — and the multiplier dwarfs whatever the plain sell price would be. A single high-multiplier Alien Apple usually out-earns a whole tray of plain commons.
In progression terms, don't waste your first Alien Apples on early sells. Hold them until you have weather access and a sprinkler setup, then harvest into a mutation window. Early players should treat it as a novelty and a long-term flex piece; mid-to-late players should farm it deliberately when events make it available, since limited produce that can no longer be acquired tends to hold and grow its trade value.
