Elephant Ears — In-Depth Analysis

The Elephant Ears is one of the trickier economic cases in Grow a Garden because it is a limited prismatic crop pulled from the Summer Seed Pack rather than bought for a fixed seed cost. That changes the entire profitability math: you are not weighing a coin price against sell value, you are weighing how many pack rolls it takes to obtain the rarest seed in that pack. When something is gated behind RNG, the only honest economic verdict is that it pays off if and only if you commit to keeping it as a long-term producer.

Fortunately the design rewards that commitment. Because it is multi-harvest and yields 6 units per cycle, a single mature plant becomes a recurring income stream rather than a one-and-done sale. Prismatic-tier crops also carry strong base value, so even modest mutations stack into large per-unit payouts. Growth-mutations like Gold and Rainbow multiply that six-unit yield, and weather effects such as Wet or Chilled add cheaply on top.

Grow it in the mid-to-late game, once your garden can protect a slow, decorative limited plant and you have mutation sources online to milk every harvest cycle.
