Free Throwing — In-Depth Analysis
Free Throwing is one of the simplest badges in 99 Nights in the Forest to describe: shoot a basketball through a basket. The requirement is specific about where this happens, since the shot has to be made with the basketball at the Basketball Court structure, and it only has to be done once, because the badge asks for your first scored basket. There is no kill count, no survival timer and no resource to gather, so the only real task is finding the court during a run and lining up the shot.
In the badge list it is rated at 1 star of difficulty, with a reward of 4 diamonds.
It was released as part of the permanent badge set of The Forest Wakes Up update on June 13, 2026. A basketball also exists as an item in the game, the Carnival Basketball introduced with the Hedge Maze update of November 1, 2025, but the badge text refers to the basketball at the court structure itself.
