Taming โ€” In-Depth Analysis

Taming is one of the most beginner-friendly badges in the game, sitting at just 1 difficulty star and paying out 2 diamonds. It doubles as your introduction to the taming mechanic itself, so it is a great early checkbox to tick while you are still learning the ropes.

The requirement is simple: tame an animal such as a Bunny using any taming flute, then feed it the required food item the required number of times. The flute is the key tool here, it is what initiates the bond, after which the animal expects specific food before it commits to you. Bunnies are the gentlest target because their food demand is light and they will not fight back, making them ideal for a first attempt.

Carry the right food before you raise the flute so you are not scrambling mid-process and losing the animal's interest. Do this near your base in daylight, away from wolves or enemies that might interrupt or kill your soon-to-be companion. Once the feeding count is met the animal is tamed and the badge pops instantly, no long survival grind required.
