When eaten it restores two hunger pips (🍴🍴), putting it on par with a Cooked Morsel and comfortably ahead of common fillers like Carrots or a plain Morsel. That double-pip return is the whole reason to bother growing it.
The catch is supply: Corn can only be obtained through farm plots, and it has only an uncommon chance to grow, so you cannot forage it in the wild and you will not get a guaranteed harvest. Plant generously and expect some plots to yield other crops instead, treating each successful ear as a small win rather than a reliable staple.
