Scythe

The Scythe is one of the heaviest-hitting melee weapons in 99 Nights in the Forest, sitting at a staggering 6,078 damage in its listed stats. That places it well into the top tier of close-combat tools, comfortably above the rank-and-file weapons you scavenge from early chests. With a swing that powerful, it can shred wolves, bears, and even the tougher bosses that show up in later nights, making it a serious answer to the escalating enemy pressure the game throws at your camp.

What holds it back is availability. The Scythe is not something you craft or find in a basic chest run. It drops from the Vampire Chest awarded for completing The Hedge Maze, and it also appears at The Thanksgiving Table, both of which are special, event-tied or puzzle-gated sources rather than reliable everyday loot.

Because of that, treat the Scythe as a prize payoff rather than a survival staple. If you clear the Hedge Maze, grabbing it is absolutely worth it: the raw damage trivializes most threats and saves you from juggling weaker gear. Just do not plan your run around it, since you may finish many sessions without ever seeing the unlock.
