Frozen Shuriken

The Frozen Shuriken is a ranged throwing weapon, described as a shuriken-style variant of the kunai, putting it in the projectile family alongside other thrown gear in 99 Nights in the Forest. Being ranged, its appeal is hitting threats before they close in, and the icy framing suggests it leans into the cold-themed content rather than being a generic loot drop.

What sets it apart is scarcity. It is only found in Ice Chests, and those Ice Chests appear in just two places: Polar Bear Caves and the Ice Temple. That means you cannot craft it or stumble on it in ordinary structures — you have to commit to exploring the dangerous frozen biome locations specifically, which gates the weapon behind real risk and travel rather than passive looting.

For survival value, treat it as a situational reward for players already pushing into the ice regions. If you are clearing Polar Bear Caves or the Ice Temple for their other rewards, scooping up Frozen Shurikens is an easy bonus that adds ranged poke to your kit. But making a dedicated trip purely for this projectile is only worth it if you specifically want a thrown ice weapon; otherwise let it come naturally as part of late-game cold-zone runs.
