The Rifle is the heavy-hitting ranged weapon in 99 Nights in the Forest, and the numbers make that clear: it deals a massive 6,090 damage per shot, more than double the Revolver's output. That kind of punch lets it stagger or one-shot many threats outright, making it the go-to firearm for clearing cultist raids and big beasts from a safe distance.
Earning one takes effort. The Rifle comes from the Gunsmith Shed, from Iron Chests or Legendary Chests, or as the Pelt Trader's third trade. Legendary Chests in particular tend to sit in the more dangerous high-Campfire zones, so acquiring a Rifle usually means you have already pushed deep into the map.
Is it worth grabbing? Without question, if you can keep it fed. The Rifle's per-shot damage is best-in-slot among standard guns, and it excels at deleting priority targets before they reach your camp. The only real constraint is Rifle Ammo, which is scarcer than Revolver Ammo, so treat each shot as precious and save the Rifle for the moments that genuinely demand its firepower.
