The Snow Shovel is a special, Christmas-exclusive item in 99 Nights in the Forest, so its entire usefulness is bound to the winter event. Outside that seasonal window it is simply unobtainable, which makes any plan around it a temporary, event-only one rather than part of your regular survival kit.

Getting it is refreshingly direct: it comes from Santa's Sack, the present sitting right next to the Campfire, and the easiest path to claiming it is running the Santa's Helper class, which is built around that festive interaction. Because the present spawns at your own fire, you do not have to trek across the snow biome or crack open hidden chests to grab it; it is right there at the heart of camp.

For survival value during the event, a shovel suits the snow maps well, where digging and clearing piles fits the winter theme of the map. Treat it as a fun, class-flavored seasonal pickup rather than a damage powerhouse or a hunger source. If you are playing the Christmas event, especially as Santa's Helper, claiming it from the Campfire sack is an easy yes; just do not expect it to carry your run the way a top-tier weapon would.
