Ransom does not chase you down a hallway. It takes over your screen. In The Archives, a flash of red static and a stop sign means one thing: stop all input, because walking, turning, crouching or changing items makes Ransom scream and hijack your interface. It is the rework of A-90 from The Rooms and was added on August 28, 2026.
The ransom countdown
If you fail, a download bar installs the "malware" and pop-ups fill the screen. Your hotbar gets covered with stop signs, so you cannot pick up or use items, and you get 1:30 to collect 500 gold. Gold and the rare Honey Pot are more likely to appear on the floor during that time, and everything you pick up goes toward the ransom. Pay in time and a "THANK YOU" pop-up clears everything. Fail and you take 75 damage and lose all your items.
