Honcho

Honcho is the boss of The Archives, and he fights with paperwork. He is a flat humanoid that seems to be made of paper, in a light blue shirt with a blue tie, with staples on his arms and a black square with choppy edges for a head, like a redaction bar on a document. Starlight symbols are inked on his arms. A hit deals 70 damage, and the wiki credits him to the August 28, 2026 update.

The sorting boss fight

At the end of a sector the elevator to the next one is sometimes overridden, as early as A-50 and as late as Y-50. It takes you to Honcho's executive office. Walk up to the desk and a cutscene orders you to sort boxes into their depots, then he throws you down a pit and chases you while you sort. Hold an input key to override the doors and shut them on him. Finish before he reaches you and he grabs you, stamps you and smashes you through the floor so the run continues. If he catches you first, he punches you and brands you with a hot iron.

Details

If any player has a Starlight Bottle, Honcho snatches it in the first cutscene and glows yellow. Completing the sorting rewards all players with the Star Employee achievement. According to his logs he is 213 years old, hates The Archives and cannot leave it. His name comes from "head honcho". Drones answer to him.
