How to survive Rush
- Wait for the high-pitched screeching before hiding, since hiding too early can make Hide attack.
- Rush uses line of sight: stand behind objects or in side rooms out of its path.
- Flickering lights do not always mean Rush; it could be another entity or a fakeout.
- The Greenhouse has no lights to warn you before Rush appears.
- Crucifix banishes Rush, but it can still spawn again later.

Where Rush appears
Rush guide
Rush deals 125 damage to anyone in its line of sight, which is why a hit from it normally ends the run. It is a major hostile entity and one of the most frequent threats in both The Hotel and The Mines, appearing roughly every ten doors.
How the attack works
Rush spawns in the earliest active room, and the lights flicker as a warning. It then races through every room, breaking each light, with a low rumble that turns into a high-pitched screech as it gets close. When it reaches a closed door it opens it and keeps going before despawning. Locked doors and The Greenhouse make it despawn instead. In The Mines earthquakes also signal it, and it can spawn ahead of you and travel back through the rooms in reverse.
Staying alive
Rush detects players with raycasting, so it only hurts you when it has a direct line of sight; standing behind objects or in a side room works. Wait for the high-pitched screech before hiding, because hiding too early can make Hide attack. The Greenhouse has no lights to warn you, so stay close to a closet there. A Crucifix banishes Rush, though it can spawn again later.
