Bandages

A Bandage restores exactly 15 HP, and it does so the moment it is used. These adhesive plasters are commonly found in containers and drawers on every floor and subfloor except The Backdoor. They can spawn in any room that has containers, and the Out Of Stuff modifier stops them from spawning.

Used on the spot

A Bandage cannot be grabbed and kept. Interacting with it applies it at once, with an animation, unless the player owns a Bandage Pack from The Mines, which stores up to ten. Using one at full health used to produce a message saying health was full, later replaced by a heart icon; in the early days they could not even spawn for a player at full health unless a teammate was hurt. That changed when the Bandage Pack arrived in The Mines update.

Compared with the Green Herb

The wiki contrasts the two healers: Bandages give immediate but finite healing, while the Green Herb regenerates 5 HP every door for the rest of the run.

History

They used to be incredibly rare in The Rooms, which is why only one piece of footage of a Rooms Bandage existed before The Mines; now they are common there. They can also spawn in RETRO MODE since The Content Update. In The Stairwell, a Bandage Pack is the wiki's suggestion against Stem damage, though it will not help against Creak or Noise.
