The Backdoor

The Backdoor runs backward: Doors -50 down to -01, with a final door numbered 0000. It was released on March 15, 2024 with The Hunt: First Edition and became permanent on March 30, 2024. You enter through the side door in the alley outside the Lobby, or from the Create Elevator and Play menu. Two gates apply. Until you have entered another subfloor, a Starlight barrier is in the way, and since September 29, 2026 the Detour achievement is required, earned by entering The Archives, The Outdoors or The Stairwell.

The clock and Haste

A timer of one minute starts at Door -50, and Timer Levers extend it. Haste is the main antagonist and doubles as the time limit: when the timer runs out, it tints the screen red and chases you from behind, killing on contact. Pulling a lever despawns it at once, even mid-attack. You can see it through walls, so glancing back tells you how close it is.

Blitz and Lookman

Blitz rushes through rooms like Rush, deals 100 and can rebound before leaving. A closet guarantees survival, and since The Backdoor has no Hide, you can wait as long as needed. Lookman deals 20 and blurs your vision only if you look at its eyes, and it cannot hurt hiding players.

The last room, -01, is The Vestibule and holds the Bottle of Starlight. Opening Door 0000 awards Other Way Around.
