Bowfin guide

Also called the Mudfish in the wiki text, Bowfin turns up in Mushgrove Swamp at night, in Rain, during Spring or Autumn, on Worm bait. It is Uncommon, and the narrow weather and season window is the main thing to plan around.

Its weight is quite consistent: 3.4 kg at the low end, 4.5 kg on average and 5.7 kg at most. At C$16.5 per kg, the average sale is only C$75. That ranks 612th of the 742 documented fish, and its maximum weight is 536th of 663. The base XP is 45. Whichever way you slice it, this is a low-value catch.

If you are in the swamp, Frog Rod and Fungal Rod are the two rods sold in the zone, so you can gear up on site before looking for it.

There is not much reason to hunt Bowfin on purpose. The combination of night, rain and two seasons is demanding for a fish that returns about C$75. Treat it as something that may show up while you target better species in Mushgrove Swamp. If it does, sell it or keep one for the collection, but do not build a session around it.
