Gulper Eel guide

Gulper Eel is a Tidefall Unusual that only appears when everything lines up: Squid bait, Night hours, Clear weather and Winter. The description pictures a strange deep-sea eel with an enormous pouch-like mouth.

Its weight is the headline. It ranges from 200 kg to 2,100 kg with an average of 600 kg, and that maximum ranks 139th of 663. Money is more middling: C$0.28 per kg works out to an average of C$168, ranking 519th of 742 documented fish, and it pays 170 base XP.

Moray Eel is the only other Unusual in Tidefall, so on a good night you are choosing between two targets at this tier. The zone sells one rod, the Fallen Rod. My advice from the numbers: the stacked conditions and a middling payout make Gulper Eel a catch to take when it appears, while a Winter night in Tidefall is better spent hoping for higher-value fish there.
