Lantern Parasite guide

Night, Autumn and a very specific bait: Crab Cages + Glowworm. That is the recipe for Lantern Parasite, an Uncommon fish from Toxic Grove that lures its prey with a glowing lure.

It is small and light, 0.75 kg on average (0.5 to 2.1 kg), but it pays well per kilo at C$190. The average catch is C$142.5, rank 544 of 742 documented fish, so it is a low-value fish overall, and its maximum weight ranks 594 of 663. Its 95 base XP is the more useful side of it for early levelling.

In the same zone and rarity you will also see Blight Pufferfish, so a cast may give you either. Toxic Grove sells two rods, the Decayed Rod and the Plaguereaver, which gives you a way to equip yourself on the spot.

The honest advice: the special bait requirement is more effort than the payout deserves. Fish it if you are already working Toxic Grove at night in Autumn, and do not build a session around it. For pure income, other fish with a higher average value will serve you better.
