Pufferflute

Clear skies and daylight are what make Pufferflute bite. This Rare fish lives in Crystal Cove, takes Flakes as bait, and only shows up in Autumn. According to its description it inflates under clear conditions, making melodic bubbles that echo around the cove.

It is a small fish: 1.6 kg at minimum, 13 kg at most, and 3.9 kg on average. What it lacks in size it makes up for per kilogram, because it sells for C$193 per kg, which gives an average catch of about C$754. The base XP is 2,200, a high figure for a fish this light. By average value it ranks 354th of the 742 documented fish, and by maximum weight it is 435th of 663, so its strength is clearly price per kg and XP, not mass.

Nothing in the data names a rod sold in Crystal Cove, so you will arrive with whatever you already own.

The advice follows from the numbers. Do not hold out for a heavy specimen, since there is not much weight to gain. Instead, treat it as an XP source: 2,200 per catch is the real draw, and the C$754 average is a decent bonus. Wait for Clear weather in Autumn, bring Flakes, and fish it during the day.
