Sunfish

“Sunfish are the heaviest bony fish species alive today. Common sunfish can weigh up to one metric tonne but on rare instances they can way two metric tonnes! The largest appeal of the ocean Sunfish is the unusual shape of its body and its astonishing weight. Sunfish have the name for their love of basking in the sun by floating to the surface of the water.”— in-game Bestiary description

Sunfish guide

Sunfish is the heaviest catch you can expect on Sunstone Island. The wiki notes that real sunfish are the heaviest bony fish alive, and the in-game version follows through: it averages 450 kg and tops out at 2,010.1 kg, a maximum that ranks 146 of 663 fish with a recorded maximum weight. It is a Legendary catch, it appears in clear summer weather, and it only bites during the day. The data lists no specific bait.

Its price is strangely modest. At C$1.50 per kg it averages about C$750, which is 355 of the 742 documented fish, just above the middle. A fish that weighs this much and still lands in the middle of the value table tells you that size is simply not the main source of money here.

Ancient Wood is the other Legendary entry listed for Sunstone Island, which makes the zone interesting for anyone chasing that rarity tier and a good reason to carry a rod ready for heavy fights.

Verdict: worth catching for the weight and the rarity, not for the price. Go for it when you want a big number on your catch record and a daytime summer session to match, and expect a respectable but not spectacular sale at C$750.
