Brother's Rod review
Brother's Rod comes from the Storyline "Castaway", so you earn it by finishing that story rather than paying for it. Its in-game text says it was built from a brother's band and grants a 10% chance to duplicate and mutate fish.
The stats are Luck 60, Lure Speed 50, Control 0.1, Resilience 5 and a maximum weight of 3,000 kg. These are low-to-middling values. Luck ranks 148th of 184 obtainable rods, Lure Speed 127th, Control 76th of 185 and Resilience 152nd, among the lowest. The 3,000 kg limit is 81st of 117, a mid-sized ceiling.
The reason to care is the duplicate chance. That 10% effect is the main draw, because duplicates multiply what each catch gives you and mutations raise value. You are not buying it for speed or luck, and the numbers show why: it is outclassed on every ordinary stat by most purchasable rods.
Use it when you want to farm mutations through a steady catch rate rather than chase rare species. Early on it is a reasonable reward for a story quest, but plan to swap it out once you can afford a rod with 100 or more Luck. Keep it for sessions where the duplicate chance is the point.
