With 25,000 hunger, it sits comfortably between lightweight common event pets and the hunger-intensive Divine tier, making maintenance straightforward for most active players who keep their pet feeding routine consistent.

## Ability

Its ability, Resplendent Bird, is elegantly simple: it occasionally selects a nearby fruit in your garden and applies the Resplendent mutation to it. The Resplendent mutation is a prized mid-tier nature mutation in Grow a Garden that directly boosts the sell value of affected crops, making the Quetzal a passive income amplifier that works continuously without any player intervention.

## Strategy and Synergies

The Quetzal becomes particularly powerful in the context of the Bizzy Bee Event because of its direct synergy with the Moss Wyvern. The Moss Wyvern's Conversion of Nature ability converts Resplendent mutations into the even more valuable Sylvan mutation while simultaneously granting XP to all other pets. Running both pets together creates an efficient mutation pipeline: the Quetzal passively generates Resplendent mutations, and the Moss Wyvern immediately upgrades them to Sylvan — all while leveling your entire stable as a side effect.

Even without the Moss Wyvern as a partner, the Quetzal performs reliably as a standalone Legendary companion for any mutation-focused garden. It requires no specific fruit conditions to activate, no cooldown management, and no special plant types — just keep it fed and let it work.
