Kraken Daycare asks you to raise Kraken Kid to level 5. After befriending her, you give her food, bandages and her trinkets, which increase her experience until she reaches the target level. The requirement is the same for all three kid-leveling badges of the update, only the child changes. Kraken Kid is the one who can fish once she is working for you, so the effort has a practical payoff beyond the badge.
