Mammoth Tusk — In-Depth Analysis

The Mammoth Tusk is a pelt-type drop in 99 Nights in the Forest, and like other pelts its worth comes almost entirely from what it unlocks at the crafting stations rather than any direct survival stat. It carries no hunger value and is not something you eat or equip on its own, so think of it strictly as a high-end crafting material.

Where you get it is the obvious bit: mammoths, the large tusked beasts that roam the colder parts of the map. They are far tougher than ordinary deer or wolves, so harvesting tusks means committing to a real fight with a strong weapon and ideally a teammate to share the damage.

Is it worth chasing? Yes, but with purpose. The headline use is the Mammoth Helmet, which needs two tusks plus two wolf pelts and gives you both warmth and damage reduction in one slot. Because mammoths are dangerous and tusks are gated behind beating them, you should hunt them deliberately when you have a crafting goal in mind rather than grinding them blindly. Stockpile a couple, bank them safely, and convert them into gear the moment you reach the Tool Workshop.
