About

Webs were a temporary Halloween 2026 world object in 99 Nights in the Forest that only Happy's Scythe could break.

Webs — In-Depth Analysis

Webs were a temporary addition to 99 Nights in the Forest, introduced in the Halloween Update Part 1 (2026.10.3, Helping Happy). They spawn very commonly around the map and stop appearing around campfire level 5. The wiki lists two real types: the ball-shaped web, and a decorative version used as an obstacle around the body-part structures of Happy the Halloween Guy.

The key rule is that only Happy's Scythe can break them. Hitting a web with any other weapon, or shooting it, shows the message "You need a special weapon to clear this." The number of hits depends on the scythe level: a level 1 scythe takes about 13 hits (the update notes say 10), level 2 takes 4, and level 3 clears a web in one hit. Each hit gives the scythe experience, and if it levels up halfway through a web, the web's progress resets. The decorative variants break in one hit or only a few more, but give the same experience.

Webs also hold loot. According to the update notes, breaking one gives a single random item from a list that includes Pumpkins, Old Radios, Broken Fans, Scorpions, Cultist Gems, Berries, Frogs, Coal and Mossy coins, and it can also release Old Axe or Spear Cultists.

They tie into the event badges as well. The Sweeping badge asks you to destroy 200 webs, and Reaping needs the scythe at level 3, which hitting webs helps with.
