About

The Frogs are a hostile animal that was added in the Frog Invasion update on August 22, 2025. They emerge from the ponds after 10 minutes in the run, and they attack using their tongue to damage and give the player the poison effect. However, the frogs are not guaranteed to spawn every run, like the Aliens, or the meteor crabs . === Frog types === There are four types of frogs. This list is organized in desceding order of strength: # Frog King / Orange Frog # Purple Frog # Blue Frog # Green Frog When a frog is killed, it spawns two frogs of the next weaker type. For example, the Purple Frog will spawn two Blue Frogs. The only exception to this is the Green Frog, which only drops a morsel. Additionally, frogs of all types have a chance to drop a Frog Key (not the green one) After collecting eight Frog Keys by fishing or killing frogs, the player can enter the Frog Cave, where they will face many frogs in waves, similar to the Mothership. Upon completion, players are able to open a Frog Chest. Frogs can be tamed with 2 Mackerel using the Old Taming Flute, however, only Green Frogs can be tamed.

Frogs — In-Depth Analysis

The Frogs are an event-only threat that crawl out of the ponds roughly ten minutes into a run, and they are not guaranteed to appear every game, so treat their arrival as a situational scare rather than a fixed schedule. Individually they are weak, sitting at just 70 HP and 5 damage per tongue lash, but the real danger is the poison effect their attacks apply and the way they multiply when killed.

Frogs come in four tiers, from the toughest Frog King down through Purple and Blue to the Green Frog. Killing any tier above Green splits it into two of the next weaker type, so swinging blindly into a Purple can quickly leave you surrounded. Focus-fire one chain at a time, keep moving to dodge the ranged tongue, and let the splits funnel into a choke point rather than fighting in the open.

Every frog can drop a Frog Key, and collecting eight (from kills or fishing) unlocks the wave-based Frog Cave and its Frog Chest. Green Frogs only yield a Morsel, but they are the sole type you can tame, costing two Mackerel with the Old Taming Flute.
